The Great Pumpkin Patch

Since today was a gorgeous day and we had not had time to find pumpkins yet, we took the girls to our favorite, local pumpkin patch. We have gone to this particular pumpkin patch every year with great success. Let me give you a free tip right here: don't wait until 5 days before Halloween to try to find a pumpkin -- even at a pumpkin patch! Let me tell you how our day went by showing you some pictures:

The girls were so excited to get going!

While waiting for the hayride to take us to the great pumpkin patch, the girls (& Chris) had fun with all the other things available to do!

This particular pumpkin farm takes you on ride through the wood to get to the pumpkins. They have the entire woods decorated differently each year.

Coming out of the woods we realized that we were going to be in for a challenge. There were about 50 pumpkins left -- about 25 of those were rotten and the others were so big that at 40 cents a pound we would have had to taken out a loan to purchase two of them! The girls took this time to pose for me though :)

After leaving the pumpkin patch empty-handed, we went to a local store to buy pumpkins. And guess what? They were all out! So, we trucked over to WalMart...not nearly as much fun as the pumpkin patch but by this point the girls were desperate. And guess what? They were all out! Are you kidding me?!?! We got back into the car with ALL of us being on the verge of a meltdown and drove to the next store. We finally hit the jackpot! (read like this . . . there were about 5 pumpkins left and the girls sat on the two they wanted until we could get a cart!). This is where we purchased our fabulous pumpkins!

In the end, the girls really didn't care where we bought the pumpkins because they were just glad they each had one!
